Greenville’s Far West End arts and business district is located within the historic Village of West Greenville. A mill town in the heyday of Greenville SC’s textile boom, this close-knit community has retained ties to its past while looking toward its bright future. Like a phoenix, it is rising once again, and all eyes are upon it.
With the increasing popularity of its arts district, and close proximity to popular downtown Greenville, the neighborhood the City of Greenville calls “the Village,” and its Far West End arts district, is luring businesses, developers, prospective homeowners, and artists.
The City of Greenville is currently undertaking a beautiful project here, which includes street widening, landscaping and some traffic calming features.
The Greenville mural project is also underway, its sites set on the Far West End as the first benefactor of neighborhood-enhancing large-scale art.
A few of the current business owners, like Upstate Weddings & Event Services, have longtime ties to the area and are a good source of information. Local realtors – resdiential and commercial – can also provide assistance, while studio spaces like Village Studios still welcome new artists monthly.
